Press Release Body: Atlanta, GA, September 30, 2007 - Bronner Business Institute (BBI) announced today the 12 finalists in its $25,000 Business Plan Competition. This is the second year for this competition for BBI offering one of the largest prizes for general business plan competitions in the nation. The contestants are either current or aspiring business owners whose eligibility to compete required evidence of completion of a certified entrepreneurship training course or workshop such as BBI's NxLeveLT Entrepreneurship Series. The BBI finalists will next have an opportunity to "pitch" their plans in front of a distinguished panel of lender, angel investor, VC, academic, entrepreneur, corporate and government representatives who will decide which entrepreneur will win the $25,000 cash grand prize.
The goal of the competition is to provide the winner with an adequate initial financial foundation to start or expand their business. "The response to the competition is overwhelming," stated Dr. Alfred Watkins, Director of BBI "with all types of businesses and industries being represented. Many of the competitors are graduates of our NxLeveLT training program, but there are an increased number of entrants from our external marketing efforts. We are very pleased and excited about how the contestants are using the experience to supercharge their businesses."
The BBI Top 12 finalists are Donna Askew (FreshEx Airplane Seat Covers), Dwayne T. Brown (Brown Technologies), Monica Coleman (Creative Connections Mobile Barber Shop), LaCanne Herndon (We\'ll Do It Cleaning), Judi Mason (Fat & Healthy Bar * Bistro), Scott McZeal (Urban Koncepts Consulting LLC), Keanne Norman (N\'Her Shuz Shoe Spa), Anthony Poe (MannaFest Records), Sandi Spells (Sandi Spells Design), Alduan Tartt (The Novem Group), Andre Weathers (Zumbe - Direct Text Messaging Marketing), and Vicki Wilbon (Forever Young & Healthy).
The winner will be announced during the October 9th BBI Kingdom Connections networking event, a bi-monthly forum held at the Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral Life Training Center in Austell, Georgia. Joe L. Dudley, Sr., President & CEO of Dudley Products, will deliver a keynote address. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees must RSVP.
